Nope. I have definitely not always been into vitamins or medication. Until I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017.
Until then I was pretty sure that anything I had could be fixed with a lot of water and good night's sleep. If I really felt bad I took some Advil.
Don't get me wrong, I wasn’t avoiding medication to make a big stand against the pharmaceutical industry. It was more of a practical thing on my part.
It really started when I first lived on my own for the first time. I would go to the store and look at all the medication thinking I should be grown up and buy some of these things in case I ever need them. But then it seemed strange to buy a bunch of things that were a bit pricey for my new out-of-college budget just to have around the house until they expired and I threw them away.
But, then when I didn’t feel well, the last thing I wanted to do was to go to the store!
So, that’s when I decided that sleep, water and Advil healed all.
I am not recommending this plan - or any plan. Medication and vitamins are a personal choice.
But now that I have gone through a year of treatment for breast cancer and had more medication put into me in a variety of ways than I have ever had before, I do have a new respect for the wonders of medical science and pharmaceuticals.
If I learned one thing during my treatment it is that if you follow the directions it really helps the doctor help you. When I did exactly what they recommended it was so much easier for them to know what was working and what wasn’t. Which helped them to give me the best care possible.
Now I’m on my own again to stay healthy now that they got rid of the cancer.I’m not going to start taking medication all the time or recommending what anyone else should do to get and stay healthy, but I will be happy to recommend tooktake medication reminder labels to help you follow the directions for whatever you choose to do to keep yourself happy, healthy and well.
